welcome to the

My Path

program

“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.”

-Frederick Douglass

Program Overview

With a team of volunteers from the community alongside founder and director of the My Path Program, Coach Jason Bress, participating teens are instructed on boxing and kickboxing basics. Teens are often paired up with one another to encourage team building skills. Other physical activities expected of the teens include but are not limited to stretching, running, and jump roping.

Our Mission

Open to all teens ages 13-18, this program helps teens struggling at home or in school. More than just resolving destructive behaviors, this program is designed to develop positive decision-making skills, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and to help cultivate a positive self-image.

"Thousands of dollars in therapy and what’s helped her the most, brought back her smile, given me back my daughter was you."

5/5

“I want to express my gratitude for you and what you’ve done for my daughter. I’ll try to keep this as short and unsappy as possible. This last year has been a brutal one. has put me through the ringer. Drinking. Sending inappropriate pictures and text messages to boys at school. Breaking all of my house rules. Disrespectful to my mother and I. She’s been angry at me for divorce. She’s been angry at me for being gone so much for work. December we found notes to friends talking about suicide. She was self harming. Suffering depression and anxiety. She asked to be hospitalized. She spent a week in a mental hospital. Hardest time in my life. She’s told me how she has no respect for me and what a terrible mom I am. I’ve been carrying around the shattered pieces of my heart for months. Praying for something to change and for our relationship to heal. Then we found your gym. Thousands of dollars in therapy and what’s helped her the most, brought back her smile, given me back my daughter was you. She’s giving me hugs again. She even said she loved me yesterday. I can’t even express how big that is or what it meant to me. Sorry, it was still long and sappy. Lol

Anyway, thank you.”

My Path

Discipline
Kids overcome challenges that strengthen their character. They learn to respect the time and follow the rules. Boxing changes a kid’s behaviour for the better and improves their mental focus.
Social Development

My Path program gives  kids the opportunity to meet other kids from different backgrounds and cherish memorable moments.

Build Confidence

My Path Program gives young people positive affirmations helps them develop better  self-esteem. Telling children you believe in their abilities sets them  up for success. It helps them stay motivated and builds character  knowing they can persevere through tough situations.

Instill respect
At My Path we teach children to respect authority and their peers. Trainers teach self-respect and encourage kids to hold their head high at all times. Good sportsmanship is instilled early on and is a valuable lesson for kids to learn throughout their life. Boxers understand the importance of winning and losing gracefully.
Decrease anxiety

Here at My Path we build  confidence and self-esteem. The program will provide a controlled and safe  environment to release any frustration, stress and anger.

Education

Here at My Path we believe education is very important. We provide open gym hours for youth to do homework and tutoring. We also provide youth with tools that will assist with problem-solving and teach them about health and fitness.
